People hear “drone cleaning” and picture a glass tower, and that image is fair enough, but glass towers are only part of the story. The honest answer is that drones handle nearly every material a commercial building is actually made of, as long as the method is matched to the surface. That principle runs through everything here: the surface decides the method, not the other way around. Get it right and the building comes clean with no harm done. Get it wrong and you cause the exact damage cleaning is supposed to prevent.

Glass and curtain wall are where drone cleaning is best known, and for good reason. Glass shows every spot, streak, and film, so it gets the most out of a purified-water approach, where clean water and a controlled spray lift the dirt and let the glass dry clear with no spots and no hand-drying at height. On large glazed faces and curtain wall, this is the method at its strongest, covering a lot of ground quickly and reaching panels you’d otherwise need a lift or ropes to touch. Mineral deposits already etched into the glass are a separate and more stubborn problem that we handle on its own, but for routine cleaning, glass is a natural fit.

EIFS, the synthetic stucco-look cladding on a lot of newer buildings, and real stucco are porous and on the soft side, which makes them prone to organic growth and easy to damage with too much pressure. These surfaces call for a low-pressure soft wash, where the cleaning solution does the work and a gentle rinse carries the grime away. Done properly, the staining and growth clear without driving water into the wall or pitting the finish.

Metal panel sits in a similar category. Aluminum composite, painted metal, and the like show up across modern commercial and retail, and they clean up well, but the finish and the seams need to be respected. Too much pressure forces water behind the panels or dulls the coating, so we keep it measured and usually on the softer side, which brings the panels back bright without compromising the system behind them.

Brick and masonry give you more room to work, since brick, block, and stone are durable. But they’re also porous and full of mortar joints you don’t want to blast out, so the job is clearing the dirt, algae, and staining without eroding mortar or soaking the wall. Depending on the condition, that’s either a soft wash or a moderate-pressure approach, chosen for that specific masonry rather than turned up to full out of habit.

Concrete and precast are the other end of the range. These take the most abuse and can handle a more aggressive clean than anything else on the building, which is where road film, exhaust staining, tire marks, and general grime tend to collect, and where higher pressure does its real work. Even then, we match the pressure to the panel and its finish, because durable doesn’t mean indestructible.

What matters most in practice is that real buildings are rarely one material. A single face might carry glass, metal panel, and stone across different sections, and each section might want a different touch. A good portion of the job is reading the building as a whole and cleaning each material the way it actually needs to be cleaned, in one coordinated pass rather than forcing everything through a single setting. That’s the part that separates a clean building from a damaged one.
